She Shed Plan

This is it, my friends! What an absolutely delightful hangout spot, office, or She Shed. For those of you that don’t know what a she shed is, let me enlighten you. A She Shed is the female equivalent of a man cave, a place where moms can get away from their kids for those precious moments of alone time. Because believe me, as we all know that really doesn’t happen very often. Or a She Shed can just simply be a space for you and the girls to hang out. Always remember to hang up that No Boys Allowed sign ;)

Let’s take a walk-through of this cute project. It’s so perfect you have to pinch yourself! I’ll tell you what I’m loving - all those windows and the light it lets in! It creates an airy atmosphere, as does the creamy board and batten siding. The wooden shutters and supporting beams around the building create a lovely accent. Those hanging lamps? Adorable. And the black window trim is striking. It’s like they pull your eye in and yet diffuse your attention to the rest of the structure. I can just hear them, in a southern accent, “Trust me, darling, you couldn’t be this gorgeous if you tried.” Yes, maybe you shouldn’t personify windows but who am I not to share their message? C’mon, they were probably stuck in a dusty old back row at Lowe’s before somebody picked them out and made them feel like a million bucks.

I’m not sure what’s going on with the two different shades of green on the pretty shrubbery. It’s like one is an elegant Elizabethan color and the other is a slice of kiwi. Or maybe I never got the memo and disparity is suddenly a theme? Are those sleek French doors? Wait, no, they’re rustic sleek French doors. I am not too fond of the blueish gray color but it adds to the modern look, as does the overhang on the gable end. It brings pomp and circumstance but with a homey feel.

I must say, the side view is quite appealing, and I’ve just noticed that quaint fence! The photo of the front looks so good I somehow missed it. But here, it becomes more prominent. This side of our darling cottage elegantly displays the open air dining option which is so cool! The color of the barstools are a nod to our wooden accent theme, not to mention sitting in one of those has to be more comfy than a cloud. Relaxing in that seat, sipping on an iced tea? (Or your beverage of choice.) You have got it made!!

And here’s where those adorable black lamps really come into play. I feel like nighttime takes our outdoor dining area to a whole new level! The dropdown glass adds a sophisticated touch, however if those mosquitoes get too nasty at night you might want to shut that. But then again, if you have a dining area outside you should be prepared with candles, torches or maybe just some good old mosquito spray.

And here we are inside. If I was actually stepping into this dreamy nook, I feel like I would smell “new” everywhere. I think it’s really neat to have a functional kitchen in this little hangout. Not only is it functional its also gorgeous! Me oh my, it looks like a dream come true! I love the chill vibes that come from this kitchen, the neutral tones tie in so well with the minimalist chairs.

I love that you can see outside so well and if someone else were eating on the outdoor barstools, you could have a chat. My only gripe is that patterned backsplash above the kitchen sink. Not a fan. What happened to minimalism? I think it creates too much business, it also is practically screaming look at me! Which unfortunately takes away from the calmness of the space. Obviously, the brown ties in well with the rest of the room but I have my doubts as to whether that’s the best we can do for that wall. I suppose I’ll have to be content.

The hanging light fixtures aren’t something to sing acapella about and yet I wouldn’t sob over them. They’re just... there, you know? Like the cousins who are the only child in their family and can’t seem to do the whole small talk thing.

So they all stand together awkwardly like hanging light fixtures. These aren’t awkward, though. Black looks good on them, to be sure. You just get a medium, “bleh” feel about them like that leftover McDonald’s fry that’s cold but it’s well-salted. Hard to make up your mind. I do have to say, I like this flooring. It brings everything together and gives a solid feel to the room. Even the grain is unique!

I promise I love this little place! Really. I’m just giving you my honest opinion, because everyone has opinions. Maybe I should keep mine to myself. And maybe Jeep trucks should never have been invented. Anyways….

Here’s what your view would be if you were welcoming someone inside. The framed greenery on either side of the doorway is perfect! It really aids the natural flow.Besides, they’re a neutral color, I really like that.

Hold on a sec. Back to the framed leaves and things, look! They have their own illumination. What!?! That’s genius! That is to die for. Oh, I’m not going to be able to get over that anytime soon; it’s way too cute!

Ok, time to climb that ladder and check out what we have going on upstairs.

Boy, was that climb worth it. I would be up here most of the time!

My thoughts were all over the place when I first saw this. Can we talk about the spiky light? Like, whoa. Awesome! I wasn’t expecting that but hey, it’s obviously designed with . The way the wall angles up to the ceiling is so neat; I love that. Although the thrifty side of me is thinking about everything you could do with that wasted space. The low key decor style makes such a statement, and I am here for it! Who watches that tv show? Don’t ask me. I’m totally clueless.

And the cow rug. My earlier calf analogy was not that far off. The chairs don’t make me want to lay down my life but I fully agree that they go with this space, clearly. Pun intended. I am curious, though, why we chose to put chess on that table. Classy. But curious. I wonder who’s winning?

The “Different Angle”

This angle shows how large the loft actually feels, and you could definitely get used to it. The windows are a fabulous addition up here, even if only for the fact that they’re black. It pops. I know everyone could see that!

Everyone can also see how much of an appealing little office, hangout, or family area this building is! I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again.
This, my friends, is a truly beautiful space!
